Ich kann singen

May 23rd, 2019

Neulich wurden wir über die Schule für ein Projekt kontaktiert, für das deutschsprachige Kinder gesucht wurden, die gut singen können. Nach dem Motto wer nicht wagt, der nicht gewinnt, und im Sinne von je mehr Deutsch desto besser haben wir eine “Demo-Tape” aufgenommen und verschickt. Hier singt meine Tochter (fast 9) Hänsel und Gretel

Interviewing Grandma

July 11th, 2015

After reading a book in which the protagonist interviews various people (with sometimes outlandish questions!) for her school newspaper, and a first experiment of Interviewing Mommy, here is finally the long-awaited, hilarious Interview with Grandma This interview is already two months old, it was made only a few days after our then not-quite-5-year-old girl interviewed […]

Interviewing Mommy

April 27th, 2015

We’ve been reading a book where the protagonist interviews various people for her school newspaper. That gave my daughter the idea to interview me. And what better way to record her vocabulary and sentence structure? And her imagination, of course! Enjoy “Interview with Mommy” in three parts (and in German, our minority language): interview part […]

Et pourquoi ?

March 22nd, 2014

Both my daughter and her father have recently been opposed to me recording bedtime stories. But since I bought this book on the condition that I record Dad reading it, they were unable to refuse. In fact, they are reading it together. Click on the title to listen and enjoy! Ce livre se prête à […]

Listen to the echo

May 3rd, 2013

Last night, Daddy read our little girl a bedtime story. Unlike with my stories in German, when she listens to one in French, she will repeat the sentences or their final words. Settle down for Carolus et Rolf le Terribleand listen to the “echo”! Story from: Les plus belles histoires du soir – éditions Fleurus […]

Normalement, les livres que je recommande ici ont trait au bilinguisme. Aujourd’hui je fais une exception pour cette petite histoire illustrée délicieuse à l’occasion de sa lecture par le papa, avec commentaires de la fille en arrière-fond :   La princesse, le dragon et le chevalier intrépide (audio) Et pour mieux comprendre, voici le panneau […]

Storytelling

February 8th, 2013

This morning when we left home to go to the nanny’s, my little girl was extremely talkative. And by extremely, I mean she was talking non-stop. I think it was some kind of story, or maybe the same story over and over again, as I recognised the same “words” several times. Listen to her here: […]

Singing

November 10th, 2012

I know I’m overdue for some of my little girl’s talking. There is no shortage of it these days, “Il est là, le [insert word of your choice here]” is a recurring phrase. So I don’t really have an excuse. Except that the recording device is not always (or rather, rarely) at hand when she […]

L’émission On est faits pour s’entendre, sur RTL, avait invité, le 02 octobre 2012, Barbara Abdelilah-Bauer, fondatrice du Café Bilingue et généralement spécialiste dans la matière du bilinguisme, pour une discussion sur les enfants bilingues. Pour l’instant, l’émission qui dure 35 minutes est encore disponible sur le site de RTL ici. (Si le lien ne […]

More jargon

September 25th, 2012

There are so many words and little sentences she says, but just try to switch on the recorder at the right moment! Whether it’s “papa, la lune” (pointing to the moon) or “pas chat” (not to be confused with “non pas ça”), the recorder is never close at hand. But last Thursday I handed it […]
